Porting Your Existing Number
Want to keep your current business phone number? Wave Line makes it easy to transfer (port) your number to our system. You can choose to port your number either by email or through our web portal.
Option 1: Porting by Email
- Contact Support: Reach out to the Wave Line support team via email (it@pnwsoftwaresolutions.com) and let us know you'd like to port your number.
- Provide Information: We'll need some details about your current phone service account to initiate the request. This typically includes:
- The phone number(s) you wish to port.
- Your account number with your current provider.
- Your account PIN or password (if applicable).
- The name and address associated with the account.
- A copy of your most recent phone bill can often expedite the process.
- We Handle the Request: Our team will securely submit the porting request to your current carrier on your behalf.
- Stay Updated: We will monitor the porting process and keep you informed of its status.
- Completion & Testing: Once the port is complete, we'll notify you and help you test the number within Wave Line to ensure everything is working correctly.
Option 2: Porting Through the Web Portal
-
Set Phone Number and Carrier: Enter the phone number(s) you wish to port and select your current carrier.
-
Set Business Name and Authorized User: Provide the business name and the name of the authorized user tied to the phone number's current account.
-
Prepare Documents: Upload the required documents to proceed with the porting request:
- A signed Letter of Authorization (LOA) to perform porting on your behalf.
- A Customer Service Record (CSR) from your current provider (optional but recommended).
- Your most recent phone bill (to speed up the process).
-
Review Details and Submit: Carefully review all the details you’ve entered. If everything looks good, submit the request.
Important Notes:
- Do NOT cancel your service with your old provider until the port is fully complete. Cancelling prematurely can cause you to lose your number.
- The typical porting time is 5-7 business days, but this can vary depending on the carriers involved.
- Porting is generally available for most US and Canadian local and toll-free numbers.
